Cannon defeated fifth-seeded Mike Miller from Central Michigan in the finals, 5-3, to become just the second wrestler in AU history to win the Midlands. As a team the Eagles finished in eighth place out of 47 teams, marking the program's best-ever finish at the tournament.]]></description>
